Your mission during this flight

As Senior Engineer für Liquid Hydrogen (LH2) (m/f/d), you will lead the development of the use of liquid hydrogen in aircraft powertrains. As part of our dynamically growing team in the field of hydrogen and fuel cells, you will take over the management and the development of strategic topics in the area of liquid Hydrogen storage. You will actively help our project managers with the organization of demanding engineering projects in the areas of LH2 tank development, handling and supply infrastructure.


Your tasks

  • Development and implementation of new technical concepts for the use of LH2 systems in aviation
  • Responsibility for the functionand specificatio ndevelopment for the LH2 tank, the refuelling systems and the LH2 handling for the aviation applications
  • Guidance of the project team and direct communication with stakeholders
  • Concept generation, design and calculation of LH2 tank and refuelling systems, in cooperation with internal and external partners
  • Definition of internal technical standards, support in system safety assessment and documentation of projects
  • Negotiations with suppliers and coordination of the workfrom the request for quotation to validation approval and commissioning
  • Understanding of LH2 thermodynamics, mechanical loads and failures, and system solutions
  • Support of the modellingteam with LH2 system knowledge

Our check-in requirements

  • Completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering, materials engineering, energy technology, process engineering or a comparable technical course
  • Several years of professional experience with hydrogen storage in system development, design or calculation in the fields of aviation, marine, automotiveor plant construction
  • Experience in thermodynamic industrial applications, especially cryogenic applications for liquid gases
  • Experience in managing plant construction or engineering projects
  • Strong interest in hydrogen technology and the development of new solutions as well as in innovative technologies and development approaches plus a good understanding of technical fundamentals
  • A proactive, analytical,and solution-oriented way of working and a strong focus on results and goals
  • A dynamic, positive,and authentic personality and an identification with the vision of realizing zero-emission flying
  • At home as part of a motivated and ambitious team which enjoys achieving goals and sharing best practices
  • A very good knowledge of spoken and written German and English
  • Experience in mechanical calculations as well as fatigue strength or experience with material tests and damage behaviour is an advantage
