At H2FLY we dream, we fly, and we develop the future! As a young, innovation-driven startup with pioneering spirit we are the worldwide forerunner on hydrogen electric powertrain systems for aviation.

Your mission during this flight

As a Development Engineer for Simulation & Modeling (m/f/d), you will be responsible for creating models for subsystems, complete systems and components relating to the fuel cell powertrain and carrying out the associated simulations. You will design partial and overall system architectures in coordination with Systems Engineering. You will be responsible for the implementation, parameterization and validation of the respective models and architectures. In addition to physical laws, your models also depict chemical reactions. Development is carried out in coordination with the process engineers, the fuel cell experts and the rest of the team. You have a strong hands-on mentality and enjoy carrying out measurements yourself on the fuel cell test bench.

Your tasks

  • Development of multi-physics models in Matlab/Simulink/Simscape
  • Creation of models for components, subsystems and complete systems Fuel-Cell + Tank
  • Parameterization and validation of the models with the help of test bench results
  • Evaluation and comparison of components and architectures
  • Creation of route models for model-based real-time control (SIL/HIL)
  • Coordination of and with external partners
  • Contributing suggestions for improvement and potential for further development

Our check-in requirements

  • Completed Master's degree in engineering/chemistry/process engineering etc.
  • Very good knowledge and experience in working with MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape
  • Knowledge of and experience with rapid control prototyping systems (e.g. dSpace, Speedgoat, NI PXI).
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Independent and goal-oriented way of working, team and communication skills as well as analytical approach

This is a bonus:

  • Several years of professional experience
  • Experience in modeling fuel cell systems including all subcomponents in MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools
  • Experience in common CFD and FEM tools such as Ansys
  • Experience with test bench control systems (NI PXI, LabView)
  • Practical experience in setting up and commissioning E/E systems
  • Programming skills in Python and C++

Fasten your seat belt and start with us. We are looking forward to your application!
